Entertainment, Arts and Fireworks Add to the Uniqueness of the Destin Harbor at the 2008 Destin Harbor Summer Festival
Destin, FL- May 1, 2008 – Reel in the excitement for
the whole family this summer along the Destin Harbor at the 2008 Destin
Harbor Summer Festival. Beginning June 1st and running for 12-weeks
through August 23rd, this series of events is being put on by the
Destin Harbor Association (DHA) and harbor businesses to showcase the
uniqueness of the Destin Harbor.
The festival is planned for Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and will
feature live entertainment, fabulous dining, exciting art, and
spectacular fireworks all in a family-friendly atmosphere. Most events
are free to the public.

June 5 - August 3, Thursday Night, 6-8PM
The US Military represents the most clearly defined social demographic in Northwest Florida. There are currently over 60,000 military residents in the local community that are either “active,” “retired” or “reserved” military personal. The Destin Harbor Association has formed a strategic partnership with Eglin Air force Base, Hulburt Field and Duke Field. This partnership aims to cultivate these social networks in a festive environment and bring new visitors to the Destin Harbor and drive a tourism message to the resort community through this process.

The Destin Harbor Association (DHA) is a non-profit association comprised of individuals and companies for the common purpose of the preservation and enhancement of the Destin Harbor. The Association’s mission is to represent and promote the interest of the Destin Harbor, which includes:
- Increasing the public awareness of and preserving the heritage of the Destin and the Destin Fishing Fleet
- Encouraging the quality and compatibility of future development in and around the Destin Harbor
- Preserving and protecting property owners rights
- Increasing the awareness of the Destin Harbor to those visiting the Emerald Coast and developing marketing and promotional programs that feature the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village”
